Entanet crowned top VoIP provider in 2008 ISPA Awards
17th March 2008
This year’s ISPA Awards proved to be one of enormous celebration for leading voice and data services provider, Entanet, as it was crowned for the superiority of its VoIP services in the Best Internet Telephony category.
Short-listed for more awards than any of the other 34 nominees, Entanet’s VoIP portfolio was chosen as the winner ahead of the other contenders on a number of criteria, including the variety and scope of packages available; price and value for money; value added services; and technical support.
The awards were given at a special London ceremony on Friday 14th March, following extensive technical testing of each entrant’s service and a review of service features and benefits by a panel of industry expert judges.
Commenting on the accolade, Business Development Manager for Entanet’s voice portfolio, Elsa Chen, said: “To be crowned for best Internet telephony is a major landmark for us. Based on our telecoms and data experience we’ve worked extensively to develop a portfolio of VoIP services that enable channel partners to meet the varying needs of customers. This industry recognition will give them even more confidence to sell our services to their customers, knowing that the service has undergone technical testing by a third party.”
A key element of the ISPA awards is detailed testing by Epitiro Technologies of the technical aspects of entrants’ products and services. Within the Best Internet Telephony category, 33 criteria were tested. Entanet’s products stood out as the best performer among the finalists, said an ISPA spokesperson: “The judges felt that Entanet’s portfolio of services and support for partners offered an exciting proposition for resellers to supply VoIP. They were impressed with its peering capabilities and the features of the VoIP Elite solution.”
On the night, Entanet also picked up the award for Best Consumer Email as well as being finalist for Best Business ISP, Best Consumer Broadband and Best Dial-up. Entanet’s service portfolio and experience in providing broadband, bespoke connectivity and telecoms services through the channel, puts its partners in a very strong position. It enables them to address the specific needs of their customers with business class products and to ‘cherry pick’ from a host of rate adaptive and fixed rate broadband connectivity packages, combining them with pre- and post-pay IP telephony products. The inclusion of wholesale line rental and other traditional telecoms products also means they are better able to protect their customer relationships. Bespoke connectivity solutions such as leased lines, bonded xDSL and colocation add further weight to the Entanet partner’s armoury.
The ISPAs – the UK Internet industry awards – are unique as they are awarded to people and organisations in the industry by their peers and reflect the broad nature of the service provider sector. The Internet Services Providers' Association (ISPA UK) has been organising the UK Internet Industry Awards since 1999 to herald the best of the Internet industry and to celebrate innovation and best practice. In 2002 the awards were dubbed ‘The ISPAs’.
The nominations come hot on the heels of Entanet winning the prestigious title of Specialist Vendor of the Year, Products or Services, in the 2007 CRN Channel Awards as a result of voting by channel Partners and customers in recognition of its commitment to quality service delivery. It and its Partners also enjoy a very high profile on leading Internet industry user forums such as thinkbroadband.com and dslzoneuk.net.
